2009-10 ~ Showing that his redshirt freshman season was well spent, Bauch set the pace for the Tigers during the 2009 fall semester. A torrid start in his first tournament, Bauch posted a three-under 207 to finish in 13th place and kept the momentum going at the Bill Cullum where he finished 22nd. The freshman then shot a 66 in only his third collegiate tournament, the Pacific Invitational on his way to collecting his third Top 25 of the season. At the halfway point of the year Bauch had accumulated a 71.6 scoring average and six rounds at par or better. The SoCal native looks to remain a permanent fixture in Goethals' line-up entering the second half of the season.2008-09 ~ REDSHIRTEDAmateur ~ Ben played an elite summer schedule in 2008, highlighted by the HP Boys at Bay Hill where he shot a 75-72-74-74. He also posted rounds of 71-75-66-72 at the Western Junior at Sea Island and scores of 71-71-74-75 at the Footjoy Invitational in Greensboro. He shot a 72-72-75 at the Mission Hills AJGA and 74-75-76 at Robinson Ranch for the Hanmi Bank AJGA. He missed the United States Amateur by a single shot, shooting a second round 65 at Oro Valley in Arizona. He finished his summer at the Ping Phoenix, shooting a 72-74-68 at Moon Valley.El Toro High School ~ Bauch lettered in golf for four years at El Toro High School in Orange County. He was selected First Team All-League as he led the Charges throughout his high school career. In 2006 he won a Toyota Tour tournament at Oak Valley.Ben is the son of Marie and Robert Bauch.
