The Pacific Golf Academy’s 2009 Camper of the Year didn’t just dress like or act like his favorite golfer, Kevin Thomas has begun to shape his game like the PGA Tour’s greatest player, Tiger Woods. An upcoming senior at Moreau Catholic High School in Hayward, Thomas took part in the 2009 Pacific Golf Academy for the first time and took home with him more than the camp’s top award; a higher level of knowledge about his game.

“I like the practice skills stations/drills; it taught me new ways to practice,” said Thomas. “I also enjoyed the Nakashima Golf Studio and learning about campus.”

The two-sport athlete (basketball) came to Coach Goethals’ academy to improve on his overall golf skills and because of his growing interest in the University of the Pacific.

“The instructional tips from Coach Goethals and his players have really helped me,” Kevin added. “I learned a lot about college golf from them.”
